Lets start with JUNE! My favorite month because Ben and I both have birthdays, awww. Mine was June 9th and then Ben's is 10 days later on June 19th. I can't decide if it's unfortunate or fortunate that mine comes first, since I can never live up to/afford what he does for my Birthday, but at the same time I get more spoiled! We had a great weekend in Newport beach and stayed in a hotel and ate at a delicious restaurant called Wood Ranch on the night of my Birthday. I also had to eat at Cafe Rio before the trip was over since there are none close to where we live. So good. For presents Ben got me an awesome KitchenAid icecream maker that attaches to my mixer(I've been wanting an icecream maker forever!), a baja hoodie which I have also wanted for a long time, and one of my favorite movies, Hook :) It's just a childhood classic for me. We made sure to have a hook and homemade icecream night the next week.
My parents took us out to Dinner on Tuesday for our Birthdays to The Cheesecake factory. It's one of my favorite places to eat and I was so glad that it wasn't the usual 2 hour wait! Ha. It's crazy how busy that place gets.
For Ben's birthday I tried to get creative and do something he wouldn't expect. I told him we were going out to dinner and instead planned a surprise birthday at a park in Del Mar right by the ocean. I got El Pollo Loco catered(one of our favorite fast food places) and invited a bunch of our friends. Well...turns out that Del Mar decided to have an outdoor concert on the same night, same park. REALLY! I was shocked I was even able to save a picnic table. Everyone had to park extremely far and even thought it was perfect weather all day, it decided to get cloudy and cold right before we all got there...BUT it was still fun and I successfully surprised Ben which I was proud of :) We took pictures with Ben's phone so the quality isn't great but you get the idea!
Notice the outdoor concert behind us! |
In June we also had a fun celebration at my parents house for Fathers Day. We hung out by the pool and my Mom made an amazing dinner. It was fun hanging out and spending time with our Dad who is and always will be a great example to us.
In July we went to Boise to celebrate the 4th of July and we got to stay for 9 days! It was such a nice break from work and we had a lot of fun hanging out with Kelsey, Lee, their three boys and Ben's parents. The 4th of July is my favorite trip to Boise. Warm summer nights, fireworks, BBQ's, going shooting and driving up to Cascade Lake for the day. Unfortunately I couldn't find my camera before we left for the trip, but I did steal some wake surfing pictures from my in-laws camera...
Now I'm looking forward for our next trip during Labor Day weekend. We are staying on a house boat with our good friends at Lake Mead for 5 days!!! Soooo excited. Can't wait.
Aaaaand here's some random pictures from our Sunday strolls along the coast! You guessed it...more pictures of Ben and I haha. We need some dang kids already!
So glad you updated your blog! It looks great and these will be fun memories one day!!
